Metropolitan President Jonathan Neal is recently elected to the board of directors at Stepping Stones Homeless Shelter in Rockville, MD Stepping Stones has been providing emergency shelter services for homeless families since 1979. In October 2009, Stepping Stones joined with the County to change their emergency shelter into an emergency/assessment shelter, in support of efforts to rapidly place homeless families in housing. Stepping Stones can house up to 6 families at a time, and serves any configuration of homeless families with children including, but not limited to, single mothers or single fathers with children, two-parent families with children and grandparents raising their grandchildren. The Shelter provides food, clothing, shelter, support services, and educational programming (focus on housing, employment, and financial literacy) for these families while they are at the Shelter. L&F Helping Hands
The Gaithersburg/N. Potomac office, Montgomery County region, once again worked with The Dwelling Place to assist a family as they transition to a home. Through generous donations from clients as well as their agents, they completely furnished a 2 bedroom, 2 bath apartment for a mother and her 2 small children. From furniture to linens, dishes, pots and pans, silverware and even bikes for the children, everything was ready for the family's arrival thanks to their hard-working agents and the assistance of our Home Service Connections partner, Metropolitan Moving & Storage who stored and transported furniture to them.
